After serious consideration I can’t get around the fact that the original purpose for which Rantazia was originally created is no longer necessary for me. This is a large part of the reason new posts have become so sporatic. As it stands, I’ve plenty of other more appropriate places to express my opinion on political issues and to comment on news stories and whatnot. Those things were never intended to be the focus of this blog anyway.
And so Rantazia’s going to sleep. I may wander by here in the future for a moment but I don’t see anything to be gained by trying to keep it up. It’s served it’s purpose and has earned a nice, long nap. So for all intents and purposes, Rantazia is shutting down. I’ll leave the blog here for whomever might want whatever with it.
Been a nice run. Take care, all!
You know, this blog was never intended to be political. Not in the slightest. Comments on society and my own life in particular, sure. But some crap you just can’t let slide. And some just needs to be pointed out, just in case there’s anyone anywhere that isn’t aware of it. Because it’s that outrageous.
For example, from the White House website:
“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”

Now this is a typical pseudo-English statement from the politically minded, so you have to read it a second and third time to really “get” what’s being said. But here, I’ll paste it again with highlights…
“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. Yes, I know you liberal knuckleheads will scoff at the conservative nutballs who get all beside themselves at the “Big Brother” thing going on. But before you laugh, please explain exactly how this isn’t a “Big Brother” thing? How is this not government plainly asking citizens to report the political views of other citizens?
And just when the hell did we start doing that in America?
But hey, you know what? I’m a loyal American. So I’ll naturally comply with my government’s request. I’ll be notifying them immediately about some of the disinformation I’ve been made aware of concerning Obamacare.
F’rinstance:
I’ve heard the obviously false claim that, under the proposed health care system, we Americans will have to option of keeping our current health insurance if we like. Yet the president has already stated quite plainly that he supports the mandate that every American be forced to buy health insurance! And not just whatever insurance you prefer but insurance that includes everything the governments says it should!
Our government must be informed immediately of this blatant disinformation! People hearing this may get entirely the wrong idea about Obamacare!
Some claim that Americans will pay less for health insurance under Obamacare. Despite the Congressional Budget Office making it perfectly clear that the plan that’s currently under debate will increase health care costs! I’ve even heard it said that Obama made this claim during a press conference concerning the bill!
What blatant and horribly dishonest disinformation! That anyone would try to twist the people’s perception of a bill currently being drafted to go before Congress sickens me! This is a matter of public record! Are they so stupid to think we can’t go back and view the press conference to see what Obama really said? That we can’t research what the bill says about this? What an insult!
Some falsely claimed that the president has said, “I don’t believe that government can or should run health care.” Yet the plan currently under debate clearly states that hospitals cannot expand without government approval. It even caps expansion at 200%!
Can we let people get away with such obvious falsehoods? I say, no! Let the government know immediately about this disinformation! How can the people possibly be expected to accurately judge how well their representatives serve their interests with this kind of disinformation being floated around?
I’ve heard it said that Obama claimed, in his press conference addressing health insurance reform, that he inherited a 1.3 trillion dollar debt from Bush. What a blatant lie! This deficit isn’t Bush’s, it’s Obama’s! Are we expected to believe that Obama would lie about something like that? Try to blame the previous administration for his own mistakes? Apparently we are!
This is obviously a disgustingly dishonest attempt to undermine Obama’s credibility…and thus the health insurance reform he promotes! We can’t let these liars get away with that!
You know, the more I look at all this the more I see the Obama administrations great wisdom in making this request of us! The amount of misinformation about Obamacare is mountainous! There’s no way they could keep track of it. A team of one hundred devoted 24/7 to tracking the mass of disinformation about this bill floating about the internet couldn’t even hope to! How wise, how utterly brilliant, to enlist the help of the American people.
Do your part today! Let your government know about the lies being told about Obamacare!
